I just love looking at my Christmas decorations, but do not like the stress of putting them up. Austin took over the job of putting the outside lights and as always, Ashleigh did a beautiful job decorating the inside.

Austin turns 15
I can not believe Austin is 15 already, WOW that we by fast. We celebrated by going to the LSU/Arkansas game. Buddy & his family met us there to tailgate, then Brent stayed with us and watched the game. It was very exciting, the Tigers won in the second overtime. GEAUX TIGERS.
We celebrated his birthday with Mamaw & Papaw watching the New Orleans Saints win their 11th game this season, what a fun time. Austin loves his grandparents so much, we enjoy living right around the corner from them

Home Repairs
Our dryer is on the fritz today, it needs a new heating element. A while back our dishwasher was broken, I thought these pictures were sweet, Maurice was teaching Austin how to fix it.

Celebrating Ashleigh's 20th birthday
We celebrated Ashleigh's 20th birthday today. Uncle Buddy brought 2 sacks of oysters for an appetizer. Now that Ashleigh is a big girl, she tried a raw oyster, she said it wasn't too bad

St Patrick's Day 2008
Once again, Austin & I walked with our friends float in the St. Patrick's Day parade. We had a blast as always, even though the weather was yucky, we got almost to the end of the parade route before it started to rain

With all the stuff we've been through the last month, I neglected to wish Jeanette a Happy Birthday on February 24th, I'm sorry Jeanette. We love you & hope you had a GREAT day.
Wow, it's hard to believe that Ashleigh is 20 today. We are all so proud of her.

Welcome 2009
Wow, it's hard to believe it's already 2009, it seems that 2008 just got here.
Here are a few our 2008 memories (both happy & sad)
We started out the year with a bang on our weight loss journey. We diligently followed our Weight Watchers plan and walked everyday. After 4 months we had lost a combined weight of 60 pounds. YIPEE for us. Of course once we stopped faithfully following our plan, the weight crept back up on us (we are both still down some :))
We got married in May, much to everyone's surprise (including mine)
Papaw was also diagnosed with cancer, as we waited patiently to start his treatment plan, the Grandpa took a turn for the worse. Maurice took a leave from work to go to Florida to spend some time with him. Sadly, on September 11th he passed away. Some of us flew to Washington DC for his burial in Arlington National Cemetery, it was an awesome experience to watch, we also took a few extra days to tour our nations Capitol.
In September, Hurricane Gustav blew through town, most of us were lucky with only a week long power outage, however, Buddy had a huge tree land on his house, he has really fixed it up nicely.
On December 11th, we had a snow day, lots of snow. It was beautiful.
As we recall 2008, we are looking forward to 2009.
